So I have told everyone we always start the day of with the Pledge of Allegiance. This week I decided to video tap it so yall could see! Don't mind that it is sideways, lol. I couldn't figure out how to flip it.
Here are some more photos of the week!
This week we read the book "Chimpansneeze" So we made monkey crafts! And for some odd reason George wanted to salute me.
Then we made monkey masks!
Dress the bear helps when I need 3-5mins to grab the next thing to do. George really enjoys doing this, but it only keeps his attention for a few minutes.
Here he is using one of the write and reuse books I ordered. I be live its tracing fun here. This amaze me at how nice they are. We usually work in one each day. And even though its the same pages it doesn't phase him. He enjoys doing this. We are starting to work on me giving him the book with some simple instructions on what to do and then I walk away and do something else, either getting the next assignment ready to go, or a load of laundry switched.
I finally broke out the magnetic spelling book I got. Although he doesn't know how to spell yet, its nice to tell him what letters he needs and him find them and put them in order.
We played the ice cream game! TWICE! I won the first and he won the second.
At the end of the book its a page just to write whatever you want, I had him write his name!
STAMPS!
Here you can see how good he is getting with his matching! He did miss two of them, but when we went over it together he was able to correct them quickly.
I like to lay out the abc's (The ones we have done) and have him put them in order. We have to do this on the floor now. He is great at looking at the abc chart and following it.
So we have the great dry erase board, and I have the markers, the eraser and I even splurged on the special spray to clean it with. Well after a month of use our dry erase board just doesn't look the best.
So after looking around online I read the a magic clean eraser works great. I have them so I pulled one out and took it to the board! Guess who has a clean board again? I do!!!!!! The problem is the eraser is dirty so my next thing will be cleaning that. But I am happy with just using a magic eraser for now.
Starting next month we will be doing some things differently in class. Well not differently but we will be adding some things. The major thing is going to be our "Calender Notebook" Its a simple binder we will use each day and fill out. So far I have these pages in it.
This is the cover page.
Each month their will be a new month here. He will write the date as we get to it. This page is in a protective sleeve so it will work more like a dry erase page. Each day he will write the day we are on.
We will use this page to write about the day at the end. A smiley face for a good day, a sad face for a bad day.... As we get closer I will have this idea worked out a little better. Also in a paper protector
Months of the year, Also in a paper protector. As we get to that month we will trace it, and on the side circle the next month and the previous month.
Color words. We will probably do one or two a day, and write them here, as we get closer I will know more what I am doing with this page.
Tracing our numbers each day. In a paper protector
We will also start weekly sight words (as we get better we will do them more frequently) this page is in a paper protector as well.
Here we will work on the sight word again. In a paper protector.
Whats the weather like today? Each day he will check it and fill in next to the correct picture, and circle the season we are in.
Once a month he will write his first name, and then we can see how he progressed throughout the year.
I keep all of his papers in this folder, I know have a box to use.... Something tells me we will fill it quickly.
This is our big alphabet book. I was very sad that the binding came out so bad. I was able to hot glue it back together and then I contacted the company. They offered to send me a new one, but I don't want half of his work in one book and then half in another. So they offered me any of the "big" books in kindergarten, figures I bought them all. So I got to pick something from a different level. So the big spelling book (1grade-3grade) is on its way free of charge.
Well that basically wraps up our week. Hope everyone enjoyed the read and the pictures. As always feel free to leave a comment.
