First week down

Well we have finished our first week of school. Although it was only a 3 day week it was a lot of fun. George spent these few days learning about the different workbooks we will use to go along with our main curriculum. We played games and did crafts. Every morning George was looking at the clock for when we would start school.

George put up his two sided poster just the way he wanted it where he wanted it. He is sitting at his desk working on the calendar math book we use everyday.

We also have a daily sentence correction book. He was to try and find what's wrong and correct it. Theirs one sentence Monday through Thursday and two on Friday.

Well just like last year buddy has found his way in the class and is loving laying around watching George.

We read a "bob book" and then George is to write a sentence about that book and draw a picture that goes along with it.

I didn't have these to show in my curriculum post but these are the Life of Fred books. We are planning to use all 4 of these this year. George did chapter one from apples and LOVED it. At the end of the chapter is 3 questions for him to answer. We are keeping track of them in the camo notebook he got on day 1.

George loves our draw write now book. Its amazing. This week he learned how to draw a tractor. We also talked about what people did before tractors.

I found this awesome boarder for the class in a pack of 4 that our double sided so it's technically 8 boarders for 2 dollars! George loved seeing this the next morning.

We are working on fractions. Note Lilly this time is right by big brother! George loves fractions and learned them easily last year. This are to help with sped and accuracy. Plus its a puzzle who doesn't love puzzles.

This is George looking through this amazing flip book to build a story. He picks the character, event, setting and conclusion. He loved looking at the options and then he told me his story and I wrote it on the dry erase board and he copy's it into a journal. I plan to use this once a week to help with creativity, penmanship, and learning how to put a story together.

This was Georges story "Their was a zebra in a cage at a house. He got out of his cage in the  house and watched a movie of an alien. Then the spaceship flew out of the t.v. The next morning he ate breakfast on the spaceship. The end

We also got the curtains up!!! We weren't able to get enough of the space fabric to do it all so we put black at the end. This is just gonna help separate the space a little more. My neighbor did the sewing for me which I am so grateful for!

Ended the week with one of George's favorite things. PAINTING!

We had so much fun! I am setting up the lesson plans for next week which is when we will start on our core subjects so that's going to be nice. George loved seeing the books we will use so I can't wait to see how he does with them all. All the curriculum we have is new to us so it will be interesting to see how George handles it all but I know him and I think he's going to love it and work hard.  Hope you enjoyed seeing some pics from our first week!
